Thinking about how far the boys have come does make me a tad emotional. Remember our nervous boys back at bootcamp? The Zayn that refused to dance because he had no confidence? Then they got put through to Judge’s Houses as a band. Torn. Remember how much that song meant to us? Then they moved onto the live shows. Those were the early days of the bad haircuts until they got better. The Louis that was too nervous to sing solos? The shoulder dance Harry did in week 1? The way Liam always started off the songs to comfort the boys. The happy jumpy Niall who always used to jump around in songs and smile? Our boys, they got to the final. They came third, we all knew how good that was for a group that had only been formed for about three months. They moved on to the X Factor Tour. We saw Louis grow up as he did solos. We saw Liam rip his pants. We saw Harry as he struggled to sing due to being ill. We saw Zayn grow in confidence as he danced all over the stage. We saw how happy Niall was. They moved on to the Alan Titchmarsh show and Alan Carr. We saw them as they grew up even more. Zayn busting a move, Harry being sexual. Louis being pulled over for driving too slow, Liam being cuter as ever throwing peanuts at Alan. And Niall just being his natural self and laughing. And now? Now they’ve just gave us, their fans, a single. I have never been prouder of a band. Ever. #welove1d
